If you want the real story of how the shop got started you'd have to have known Torey's Mom, Betty. She was amazing. She was one of those women who could manage a home, children, and a full time job all with one hand tied behind her back. If you were lucky enough to be a part of her family, she made sure you knew just how special you were to her. When Betty was just fourteen she made a quarter sleeved Raglan Sweater for her then, future Mother-in-law. Little Grandma, as we call her, still had the sweater packed away in her Cedar Chest.
One day, Torey took Grandma to lunch. She was telling Grandma all about her idea for the shop. The colors that she was going to paint the walls, how she thought the yarn should be displayed, etc. Grandma listened attentively as always. When Torey took her home, she said, "Come inside, I have something to show you."
The sweater was the first thing Torey hung on display in the shop. It serves to remind us how it all started, and that family is what matters most.
